Loftily positioned on the same hill as
the medieval town of Todi, Villa dei
Fagiani enjoys a spectacular view
over the Tiber Valley and a wide
expanse of the surrounding countryside.
The house, whose name means "House
of the Pheasants", is owned by an
Italian designer who has done an
excellent job of creating an atmosphere
where modern comforts are combined
with architectural authenticity. The
house encompasses three floors. On the
ground floor is a large living / dining
room which takes full advantage of the
views and is furnished with comfortable
sofas, armchairs and a decorative
fireplace.A fully equipped separate
kitchen has a functioning fireplace and
washing machine. Also on this level is
double bedroom with en-suite bath.
The first floor has a twin bedroom
which can be made into a double and
has an en-suite bath. Across the hall is
a study / library, with a beautiful terrace
with a dramatic view, through which
one must pass to get to the second floor.
Here, there is a large bedroom with a
king sized bed and an en-suite bath.
Casa dei Fagiani has a semi-
underground swimming pool, not large
and not deep, which is sited to take full
advantage of the views. There are
beautiful grounds and the house has
SAT TV, washer / dryer, telephone and
a dishwasher. This is a great house for
a family or two or three couples
traveling together who want a central
location in Umbria.
Maid service is available at $15 per hour.
