Beautiful unspoiled Umbrian countryside
surrounds the ancient city of Orvieto, and it
is here, in a prime hilltop location with
outstanding views, that Il Molinazzo can be
found.
The owners renovated the property some
years ago, with an unusually high attention
to detail. The main house is intimate and
stylish, while the comfortable guest annex
is available for family gatherings, or for
guests who just like to get away to their
space. A particular feature is the fact that all
of the bedrooms have en-suite baths, with
fabulous tiled effects in vibrant colors
evocative of southern Italy. The rooms are
decorated with sophisticated fabrics, and
interesting artifacts adding more interest; a
wooden rocking horse at one end of the
elegant living room providing a foil for the
vast stone fireplace at the other end, while
the dining room provides a superb venue for
dinner on cooler evenings. The master
bedroom suite, with its pretty views to the
garden, is conveniently located on the
ground floor, also with its own sitting / study
area, ideal for those who need a peaceful
haven to work in. A large and well equipped
kitchen and breakfast area opens to a terrace
and dining area. Outside, the lovely, shaded
terrace with steamer chairs overlook well
tended gardens and the lawned area linking
the house with the annex, with steps leading
up to the beautiful pool area, from which the
all around views are simply amazing. With
the superb, all weather tennis court, located
near and below the pool area, guests could
happily while away a day here, perhaps
finishing off the day with a barbecue after an
energetic game of tennis, and cool off in the
pool.
