The splendid city of Lucca, situated in the
north of Tuscany, is famous for its elegant
period houses built over a span of four
centuries in some of the most pleasant areas
of the Lucchese countryside and the arc of
the hills which surround the plain of Lucca.
Villa Cardinale is an excellent example of
one of these villas. In the 17th century it was
the residence of the Cardinal from which the
villa takes its name. Renting a luxurious
villa such as this offers one a unique
opportunity to enjoy a holiday marked by
elegance, relaxation, total privacy and
excellent service, all in an environment rich
in charm and history.
The villa has been superbly restored with all
of the rooms having period furnishings,
flanked by the modern comforts of SAT TV
and internet access. The internal beauty and
elegance of the villa is harmoniously
balanced with the external space, which is
made up of a stunning park with a garden,
ancient trees and multicolored flowers and a
patio. Situated at the highest point in the
park, is a swimming pool equipped with
sunbeds and umbrellas. The park also extends
to the back of the villa where there is an area
furnished with tables and charier for al fresco
dining.
Villa Cardinale offers a staff to prepare a
daily breakfast and one meal a fay, six days a
week. The property is taken care of by a
couple; the lady is an excellent cook and the
man is available for food shopping and to
run general errands. In addition, the villa
staff includes a gardener and a waitress. Only
the waitress lives on the property with an
apartment in an isolated area. Privacy is
therefore guaranteed. The villa, featured in
the best editions of Lucchese Villa Books, is
located only a few kms. from both Lucca
and Pisa. In addition, the beach areas of
Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are only 20
minutes away.
