Nestled in the heart of the world famous
Chianti Valley, just thirty minutes from
Florence, stands Villa Cabbiavoli. This
graceful country residence is located near
the town of Castelfiorentino, on the
Francigen Route, once the main
thoroughfare from Rome to France.
Villa Cabbiavoli is steeped in history. Its
origins date back to the early years of the
13th century, when a powerful Longobard
clan from the Elsa Valley - the Conti
Alberti - chose Cabbiavoli as the site for
their castle, later converted into the elegant
villa you see today. The Conti Alberti
family owned the property until the 17th
century. Traces of the original 13th century
fort are still discernible in the square brick
tower and the walls along the villa.
