This superbly restored villa enjoys one of
the most spectacular positions on a hill
surrounded by ancient cypress treed, and
dominated the outlying countryside and
offers breathtaking views. The house is
surrounded by terraces that lead down into
the fields and woodlands. A majestic
property, this is a very classic, old Tuscan
villa. The ivory exterior beautifully sets off
the terracotta and stone entrance courtyard,
which leads up to a magnificent wrought
iron and glass double front door and into a
very special house. Tinged in a relaxing
pale blue with light grey contours, the
ground floor is airy and panoramic, and is
comprised entirely of living space. The
entrance hall runs the width of the house,
and through of three French doors,
continues onto the terrace and swimming
pool. To the left of the hall is a spacious
living room with a fireplace and runs the
length of the house with windows on all
sides - beautifully sunny in all seasons. To
the right off of the hall is a large dining room
overlooking the pool area. Off of the dining
room is a small breakfast room which leads
to a glass walled kitchen - a fantastically
equipped, cool beige, restaurant style that is
in full view of the east facing front, with
French doors that overlook the veranda
terrace. There is a full guest bath between
the kitchen and breakfast room.
An old stone staircase leads up to four
double bedrooms and one small double
bedroom, painted in soft pastel colors, four
baths - three are en-suite and one is shared.
On a high level, with great views and large
windows, the bedrooms make the best of
the sunrise and sunset with three of them
of them facing east and two facing
southwest.
With possibly the most fascinating position
of all, the south facing pool runs the whole
length of the house and can be seen from
almost every room. Bordered by a terracotta
paved solarium, the infinity pool lies next
to the house. Mosaic tiled, Roman steps lead
down into the water, and a spa bath sits on
the western end. Such an inviting way for
watching the sunset.
The southwest facing portico is perfect for
shaded informal poolside dining. Towards
the front of the house, the large Tuscan
loggia veranda provides a wonderful space
for entertaining. Strategically placed, not
only does the loggia provide wonderful
dawn and twilight views, it also overlooks
the front entrance and courtyard.
The furnishings are of excellent quality and
are tastefully designed. All of the rooms are
decorated in vibrant pastels, and the
luxurious fabrics are coordinated throughout.
The furniture is in an elegant Tuscan style
and all of the rooms are AIR CONDITIONED.
Maid service is provided Monday through
Friday and a cook is available on request.
