Located on a hillside between Radda and
Gaiole, Le Miccine is a small wine estate
owned by an American couple from
Chicago. It has been part of the Tuscan
landscape from the early 1700's, when
it served as a "way station" for travelers
receiving a change of horses on their
journeys through the Tuscan hills.
Having been recently restored, Le
Miccine produces wines and olive oil.
The outside area of Le Miccine consists
of over 30 acres and contains vineyards,
olive groves, gardens and woodlands.
The house sits on a hillside at the center
of the property and is surrounded by
landscaped grounds with an abundance of
roses and other flowers.
A path leads from the house up the hill to
a beautiful swimming pool with a terrace,
that is next to the cantina, where the wines
are made. From the terrace, there are
wonderful views of the countryside. The
design of the pool gives the illusion of water
cascading over the sides into the horizon.
GUEST APARTMENT - Sleeps 4
The ground floor guest apartment is entered
from the front terrace. It retains the typical
Tuscan charm with its beamed ceilings, terra
cotta floors and whitewashed walls. There is
a large tastefully furnished living room with
a fireplace and has a modern kitchen. The
sleeping accommodations consists of a
master bedroom with en-suite bath, a double bedroom with
bath.
OWNER'S APARTMENT - Sleeps 4
Through a wrought iron gate is a stairway
that leads to an open veranda that is the
owner's apartment. The apartment has a
large living room, dining room with a large
fireplace, a double bedroom and a twin
bedroom, and two baths.
All of the rooms are large and are furnished
with Tuscan antiques and modern pieces.
Heat is not included and is paid locally.
