restored to a very high standard to
ensure the highest level of comfort. It
enjoys a timeless feeling of "having
been there forever" - just waiting to
be enjoyed by those who will
appreciate the pleasure of staying in
part of Tuscany's heritage. This must
be the house that any large family of
various ages, or two groups of friends
wanting separate but together
accommodation, can truly get lost in.
If taken with nearby Vercenni,
thereby accommodating 21 people,
one couldn't imagine a better holiday
paradise for the ultimate family
gathering.
The present owners of this large,
private estate originally converted into
their family home the much loved
Vercenni many years ago. However,
it was always also their dream to
apply the same formula to another
property on the estate, Casa di Sopra,
now fabulously restored to the
highest quality - yet retaining the
same understated character of nearby
Vercenni. The imposing stone
exterior, strictly controlled by
planning controls, intent on
preserving Tuscany's heritage, gives
little away of its secrets - yet inside
huge airy light rooms with original
beams come as a complete surprise.
Incredibly spacious, it is the house
for any large family of various ages,
or two groups of friends wanting
"separate but together
accommodation, all who can truly
lose themselves id they really try.
Beautifully decorated, furnished and
equipped by a well known decorator,
the house is a delightful mixture of
an artfully understated but definitely
sophisticated look. A huge fridge /
freezer in the kitchen compliments an
old oil painting adorning the billiard
room. Located over four multi-
leveled floors, di Sopra has endless
and intriguing nooks, crannies,
corners to escape to: several sitting
rooms with cozy fireplaces and TV
for the winter months. Boredom is
not an option, with its library, games
and billiard room and ping pong
terrace. Particularly fine bathrooms
are clad in different shades of
beautiful marble. Bedrooms are
varied, from the fabulously romantic
four poster eerie, the Tower bedroom
with stunning views, to a charming
pink curtained single room with tiny
balcony. An unusually spacious and
well equipped kitchen / breakfast
room has a table for 12, and built-in
barbeque, leading downstairs to a
huge laundry room with all mod
cons. Outside, endless terraces,
extensive grounds, barbeque,
panoramic views and a lovely pool,
located up and away from the house,
complete this idyllic spot. Di Sopra
can easily be combined with
Vercenni next door for larger
groups, near enough for togetherness,
but far enough for privacy, especially
with their own pool.
