Located on the "green island" of Ischia in the
Bay of Naples, Villa Beatrice will appeal to
those looking for a truly relaxing break in a
comfortable, spacious and fascinating home
with breathtaking views of the sea, the island
of Procida and the volcano Vesuvius on the
Neapolitan coastline.
This unique house was designed, built and
furnished by a diplomat whose various posts
and extensive travels enabled him to gather
an eclectic collection of beautiful paintings,
statues, tapestries, rugs, furniture and
ornaments, all of which adorn the interiors.
Built in a traditional Mediterranean style
onto the side of a hill, each of the three floors
of Villa Beatrice has access to sunny terraces,
a pool, and the surrounding lush gardens full
of lemon, orange, olive and palm trees, as
well as a rich variety of Mediterranean
flowers. The bedrooms are tastefully
furnished, mostly with en-suite bathrooms
and some with the luxury of independent
access to the outside terraces, ensuring
privacy. Guests can also dip into the library
with its extensive assortment of books on art,
history, literature and not forgetting essential
guide books to Ischia, Capri, Naples, Pompeii
and Herculaneum. With an excellent cook
service and an outside dining area under a
jasmine covered loggia, you will not want to
leave this oasis, as you unwind on the terraces
and in the pool, surrounded by bougainvillea,
taking in the spectacular sea views. The sea
and the nearest sandy beach of Maronti, with
its volcanic stream, is only a five minute
drive away, while a bath in the thermal
springs of Sant' Angelo or the gardens of
Poseidon or La Mortella is an experience not
to be missed. Ideal for part of an Italian
Odyssey combined with another villa
elsewhere.
