Rome to attract the aristocratic
families that have made Ansedonia
so sought after - yet far enough to
ensure a feeling of privacy and
remoteness.. The house has been
decorated to an extremely high
standard. Sul Mare was featured in
the October 1999 issue of AD
Magazine. Bedrooms and
bathrooms have been luxuriously
equipped for the most fastidious
guest. Its sensational living room,
separated from the dining area and
marble dining table by elegant
marble pillars, has huge picture
windows framing the sea and sky.
The room contains many valuable
antiques, artifacts, busts and a coral
collection, left by the owners in
anticipation of appreciative guests.
Lawns, terraces shaded by pine
trees, and beautiful sub-tropical
gardens provide sun and shade and
endless alternative venues, including
a BBQ area, for relaxation. Steps
lead down to a bathing platform, and
then to a ladder and rock swimming in
the beautiful sea. It will be difficult to
leave this enchanting place (the local
shop even delivers food). However,
for those who venture out can explore
the Maremma, Etruscan tombs, historic
Orbetello, gateway to the Monte
Argentario - or enjoy boating and
dining at some of Italy's finest sea food
restaurants. Dining at Il Pelicano in
Porto Ercole is not to be missed. We
cannot recommend Sul Mare more highly -
a luxurious and hedonistic retreat retreat
on some of Italy's most beautiful coastline.
