Villa La Sovrana is a spacious and stylish
villa built in local stone, tucked away at the
end of a quiet cul-de-sac of the Amalfi Coast.
With breathtaking views of the sea, it lies in
a sunny position 4 kms. from the town of
Maiori, famous for having one of the largest
and most beautiful sandy beaches in the area,
and is 6 kms. from Amalfi. The property is
reached by a gently descending private
driveway, partly shaded by scented pines,
green olive groves and thick Mediterranean
vegetation, all cascading down to the sea.
The villa is very secluded, while being
within easy reach of the many nearby
villages, is a perfect hideaway for those who
seek full privacy. The sunsets from here are
really stunning. The large, open plan, split
level living / dining area is bright and airy,
with light streaming in from full height
windows and glass doors that surround the
room. Gorgeous views from each window.
LIVING SPACES
The living area is furnished with three
comfortable sofas, seating four people each,
surrounding a crystal topped table. The
room is decorated in mother-of-pearl and
wicker chandeliers, modern lamps and
antique chests of drawers. The spacious
interiors have recently been restored and
nicely decorated in a mixture of modern and
fine antique furnishings, combining comfort
with tradition and charming contemporary
design, in perfect harmony with the antique
terracotta floors and white washed walls. The
dining area is on a slightly raised level, with a
table for twelve and French doors opening to
a side courtyard. There is a fully equipped
kitchen.
All of the bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious, furnished with discerning taste and all have en-suite bathrooms. One bedroom features three single beds. A double bedroom has French doors opening onto the terrace at the rear of the house. A large bedroom with antique wrought iron twin beds has French doors opening to a large balcony area overlooking the sea. A single bedroom - accessible only from outside, is located alongside the pool area, with a French bed and en-suite bath. An additional annex, accessed with five exterior steps provides further accommodation for two people. It has two French beds (can be made as a double) with a portable A/C - heating unit with en-suite bath
OUTSIDE FEATURES
The terraces around the pool and to the front of the house are adorned with flowering plants and pots, are equipped with large umbrellas, shower, and outdoor furniture ideal for al fresco dining or relaxing while enjoying the wonderful views. An attractive salt water pool, suspended high above the bay, is completely private and has the same unbeatable views. There are ungraded terraces and drops on the property, so child supervision is strongly recommended.
